Skin reaction to heat, I think

Monday, May 30th, 2005

Grumbledy-grumble. I hate it whenever these strange rashes come.  They’re similar to a mosquito bite, but more stubborn.  It takes a long time to get them out and they seem to like coming when it’s hot and humid.  AAAaargh.  I thought they might be bacterial so I tried dabbing a bit of antibiotic cream but it did not work.  Maybe, it’s fungal so I tried tons of anti-fungal creams and lotions (even tablets)…they seem to come off but in a weeks time there they go again…and after some time, a loong time, they get tired and disappear!

This is my strange heat rash.

Then I got news that my sister, Luni has a strange crazy rash similar to mine. She went to a derma, and lo-and behold…it was a viral kind. Her derma told her that it occurs when the immune system’s down (oh,great) and the virus is just about everywhere…in the air…

…my sister’s dabbing some lipocream to it…

I told my pa about it, and the usual natural-med-self-med-person he told me to try taking a bath with lemongrass water and slathering virgin coco oil…

…the rashes have disappeared!

restoring classy vintage

Friday, May 27th, 2005

i’m trying to fish info on vintage furniture as i accidentally broke the wooden stair-chair at home. I got some Lockwood from Min (sis), read a restoration guide, had some nails hammered in the stair-chair, and it’s done. However, it doesn’t look like it hasn’t endured an accident…it’s that thing i really want to mask. i don’t have beeswax, like where the hell will i get beeswax…does it have a filipino name so i can go to chinatown or quiapo…

now that i’ve been reading about restoring vintage furnitures, i wonder how to restore the damaged ones at my lola’s house…or the ones here at home…

if you want a nice sulihiya done to your sorry-looking furnitch, and you’re just around the south of Metro, look around old las piƱas road, at pulanglupa. there they make you nice sulihya at a very good price. not that i really shelved in money for that, but i’ve always been a witness to those things.
